Hoorn is a former Dutch East India company city with a rich history. There are various monuments which remind one of times past, such as an old sluice, museums and historic buildings. Around the harbour there are various terraces and restaurants where you can hapily people watch. The region of West Frisia also offers various walking and cycling options. Visit the de Weelen nature reserve, a rich bird habitat with diversity of nature, from forest to beautiful reed fens. Visit the cheese market in Alkmaar, the Zuiderzee museum in Enkhuizen or take a day out in Amsterdam!
Hoorn is, beside a historic city, also a city with much potential. Nice terraces, shopping streets, harbour and various entertainment makes Hoorn a nice place for everyone. There are also many restaurants where you can enjoy a quick snack, or even extended lunch or dinner. In the summer months there are many activities taking place in the city you'll surely enjoy! The apartment itself is located on the edge of the centre, at one minute walk from taxi, bus and train station. Through the train you are in less than half an hour in the center of Amsterdam. This train departs from Hoorn during rush hours four times per hour and goes direct non-stop to Amsterdam. Enkhuizen is also easily reached by train in less than fifteen minutes. Throughout the center of Hoorn is paid parking. Park in front € 1.80 per hour. Because the apartment is near the station, we suggest you make use of parking on the PR site where you at a rate of € 2.20 per day can use. Your car will be parked at one minute walking distance. On the north east side the roofterrace is locatede which gives a good look to the park and bus/train station of Hoorn.
